A comeback Daniil Medvedev claimed his initial title for 882 days with success over opponent Moutet in the competition title decider.

Medvedev, a former number one, has had a challenging year, managing just one match at the big events and experiencing a difficult moment at the New York tournament.

The player's unpredictability on the tennis tour - and struggles with his service game in particular - led to him falling of the top ten and finally splitting with long-time coach his previous coach.

Presently collaborating with Johansson and his other coach, the tennis star has gradually advanced in the last few weeks - climaxing in a hard-fought competitive triumph over challenger Moutet.

This marks Medvedev's first trophy since the 2023 Rome Masters and first on a hardcourt after March of that year.

Victory also indicates Medvedev has achieved twenty-one titles at twenty-one various tournaments.

"For the first time I am participating in a tournament with my both daughters together, so to secure a trophy is really nice," said world number 14 Daniil Medvedev.

"This championship is in dedication of my younger daughter her name, because the maiden victory I achieved when my first daughter my daughter was born was for her."

The tennis star, the 2021 US Open champion, had failed in his last six title deciders, comprising in that event earlier this year.

Medvedev's retrieving strategy and recurring emotional displays on the tennis court had prompted observers to question if his ability to perform at the elite level was over.

Yet the athlete has made changes in recent weeks, attempting to approach the net and play assertively, reinforced by an better service.

He recovered from a disadvantage in the opening set against the challenging Frenchman, taking 4 of the final five points to go ahead.

The pair traded break points in the following set before Moutet, striving for his initial tour title, took control to push for a final set.

The opponent defended four early-game opportunities in a close deciding set before the champion broke to 15 to close out the victory.

Fittingly, the winner secured victory with a shot at the net area, with his opponent incapable to handle a volley after over two and a half hours.
